Composition

As a composer, Greg has studied privately with Scott Eggert and Rodney S. Miller. He has composed numerous original works for the Lebanon Valley College Symphony Orchestra, including “Scenes from Childhood: Northwest Playground,” “The Inevitable Journey,” and “Primordial Springtime” which were debuted by the orchestra on their 2001, 2006, and 2014 summer European tours. One of Greg’s works, “Scherzo for Summertime,” was recorded by Steve Rudolph and Tom Strohman on their CD, “In Our Prime” and is available on Amazon.com and iTunes music stores through R&L Records. Greg has taught composition lessons privately for many years and serves on the faculties of Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA and Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA where he has taught lessons/classes in music theory and composition. Greg has also served as an adjudicator for the Pennsylvania division of the Music Teachers National Association’s (MTNA) composition competition.

Greg has also composed and arranged works for numerous individuals and musical organizations, including the Lebanon High School Alumni Band, Temple University Trombone Quartet, Perseverance Band of Lebanon, Lebanon Valley College High School Honors Strings Orchestra, Lebanon Valley College Marching Band, Central Dauphin High School Marching Band, and Lebanon High School Symphonic Band and Low Brass Ensemble. In 2014 Greg released his first solo CD, “Strohman Says,” which features him performing his own works and is available on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, CD Baby, and other distributers through tgNotes, Inc. Greg’s compositions are also featured on his personal website and YouTube channel.
